Shawn Baker is from Anderson,SC. and currently a full time student. He is planning on opening his own shop after graduating. Shawn realize that college isn’t for everybody, so his goal is to help the young kids by giving them an opportunity to learn trade of barbering. Since attending barber school he has improve his cutting skills and business of barbering.
Chris Bolt is from Westminster, S.C. He planning on opening his own shop after completing his barber training. He chose this school because he heard a lot of good things about the school. He is planning on learning everything from different hair cuts and styles. He would prefer anyone to attend because of the professional atmosphere in learning. Chris said, ” I have a wonderful family. A wife and two sons that support me in going to school and fullfilling my dream in being a professionnal barber. Oh yeah I love fishing too.”
Mark Burnhart is from Anderson, Alabama. He is a full time student and husband to a beautiful wife. He’s artistic and uses discipline when cutting hair because of his combined personality and experience in the army. He’s learned to be patient, fast and accurate when cutting and shaving while at the Academy. He plans on being a barber full time when he graduates.
Bishop Stanley Chamblee is a native of Anderson,SC. who also presides over a local church here in Anderson. He is currently a full time student. Stanley goals is to open up his own barbershop with a christian environment that would make everyone feel welcome. Since attending school he has improve his skills in tapering and designer cuts. Stanley also said, ” That I’ll do my best to give the client good and professional service while treating them with the up most respect.”
Kendrell Cowan is from Anderson, SC. He is currently a full time barber student. Kendrell goal is to go into a family owned barbershop. Since attending school Kendrell learn the importance of social skills as well as what it takes to be a well rounded barber. ” I have a driving force to satisfy the community with my services” said Kendrell.
Daniel Gibert is a 31 years old full time student and from Anderson, South Carolina. He plans on going into the Barber field full time once he graduates since he has come to learn that it is a profitable business while going to school here. His favorite skill that he’s learned is taping up, which is like shaping up. He wants everyone to know that “I’m a people’s person, I’m always looking for a challenge and I’m going to do the best I can with what I do.”
Kawonna Hill-Sanders is from Anderson, S.C. She is a part-time student attending evening classes. She is planning continue her education in the world of beauty after completing the her barber training. She chose this school because the type of organized and perfossional training that was being offered. She is looking forward to learning various cuts, styles and being creative; moving forward increasing her knowledge and skills in barbering. She would recommend others to attend because of the respectable and caring enviroment.
Chad Jones is a full time student from Atlanta, Georgia. At the time of the interview, Chad had just started at the Academy. He said he was looking forward to learning what barbering is all about. He also predicted that he would acquire patience and have a firm foundation with business responsibilities. He’s hard working, responsible and God-fearing.
Orlanis Knight is from Anderson, SC; while he goes to school at the Academy, he also works at Orian Rugs. He plans to continue working there and becoming a barber once he graduates. His favorite barber skill that he learned while going here is shaving. Orlanis’ testimony is admirable since he stopped being a social drinking while coming to the Academy.
Walter Lee Lindsey( aka King) lives in Anderson, SC. He is currently a full time student. He’s planning on working in a barbershop in Anderson upon graduation. Since attending school he has improve his cutting skills with straight hair. No matter what, if you let him cut your hair he promise to do the best job he can do and you want be disappointed, said Walter
Russell Maio is from Jamestown, N.Y. He is a part-time student attending the evening classes. After graduation he planing on working in his father’s barber shop. Since being here at school he enjoys the friendly atmosphere and environment. He really looking forward to learning coloring and styling hair. He would recommend others to attend to increase they skill level to become a professional barber. Russell said ” It’s not to late to learn a trade later in life if you just take the imitative to learn”.
Kevin Pearson is from Anderson, South Carolina and is a full time student. He has learned to cut any type of hair, man or woman, black or white. He believes it’s good to be diversified. Before coming to the Academy, he owned his own business and he was used to being the boss. While being under Bryant’s supervision, he learned to take authority, follow leadership and learn what is necessary. He began to take learning more seriously with stronger dedication since he was paying for his own schooling.
Ellen Ratney currently lives here in Anderson,SC. but originally from Gary, IN. Ellen is currently a full time student. She is studying to be a Master Barber. After graduation she going to own and operate a full service salon. Ellen started barbering from the ground up with little experience and since being here she has improved her barbering skills in every area. ” Since this is a male dominate profession, its a challenge, but it can be done by women through hard work and dedication” said Ellen. Ellen wants you to know that she is a perfectionist. She also want her clients to feel comfortable with her cutting and styling there hair. TheEnd!
Mollie Todd is a night time student at Bryant’s Barber Academy. She works full time at Max tires, so she is also a part time student. She plans to become a barber full time once she graduates. She has learned how to interact with clients and that nothing is impossible, it may not be easy, but it can be done. She has also learned that once she starts something, she must finish it.
